great family style sushi restaurant. the service was really friendly and fast, our waiter was so funny and cool, even took our loud behavior and constant joking without skipping a beat. the edamame was good and salted perfectly. the sake bombs were fun. all the rolls were delicious - we had 4 and all shared. if youve been to bangkok city on bird road and love it like i do, i believe it is the same owners so you wont be disappointed...

Great sushi! Ok service our waitress kept disappearing but other than that a great time for a casual night

I have tried both the sushi and the grilled food. The grilled food is a bit bland and the portions are really small. It was also quite expensive for such a small amount of tasteless food, but I enjoyed the show. Service is fantastic. The owner is really nice. The sushi is pretty good. I will be coming back only for the sushi.

This place is definitely not as well known as some other places like Bennihana or Sammurai, but I prefer this place over those. Some of the Hibachi chefs are NOT all that great (one in particular) but most of them are pretty darn good! What makes this place better to me is the fact that they also happen to have AMAZING sushi. Actually I know quite a few people who come here just for that. When I come here, I tend to leave in a food coma because I go for both ;) I normally share the Hibachi meal with someone and just order an extra fried rice with it, and as for rolls, I Love Lucy has stolen my heart yummmmmy!

I have been going to this place for years. Not only is the service great but the food is absolutely amazing!! My husband and I share the steak or the chicken and add an extra rice on the tepanyaki side. it comes with soup and salad so we just get 2 salads. We also get a sushi roll to start (the dragon roll) and we leave there ridiculously full. I highly recommend this place to everyone.

It's not the nicest place, but it's really good! They have really fresh sushi and everything is super good. The only complaint is that their service has gone down recently.

I have only been here for the sushi but its great! I still need to try other things on their menu. The place is a little hidden but its worth looking for.

Do not be deterred by its shopping center surroundings. I have a special place in my sushi-loving heart for Ruson. Not only is the service pretty spectacular, they serve up a menu of fresh sushi, dependably good appetizers and consistently tasty (and occasionally inventive) rolls. Become a regular, as I have, and they'll not only remember who you are, but what you like to order and what beer you drink. My personal recommendation: Sit at the sushi bar. If you're in a pair, a trio or alone, this is the perfect spot for you. The sushi chefs are friendly, informal and, if given the opportunity, your best resource on what to order. I often invite them to create something for me based on a few fundamental likes and dislikes (just can't get on board with shrimp in my sushi rolls). They've yet to disappoint, which if you knew me, you'd understand is quite a feat. Ruson has provided the perfect setting for everything from boisterous girls nights and family dinners to dates and even (gasp) meals alone. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a casual, unexpected gem that they can add to their go-to list.

Best Sushi in Kendall. I have tried other sushi restaurants, but nothing like Ruson. Always fresh, always perfect, service is friendly and the staff is very attentive. The portions are generous, and the price is very reasonable. They have a few vegetarian dishes, tereyaki meals, and the sushi roll variety is pretty long. Favorite rolls: I love Lucy America Dream Shrimp Tempura Kamikase Rainbow and the list goes on... Ruson is the best

This is my absolute favorite Hibatchi and Sushi place in Miami! I moved here a few years ago and went in out of curiousity and was very happy with it! You can either sit at the grills or on the sushi side and order food. The portions are pretty big at the grill so I usually split a sushi appetizer and the main course (there's a small fee to split the entree at the grill) with someone and it's more than enough. It's a very casual place and gets busy on holidays like Valentine's Day, but it is definitely worth it! I wouldn't go anywhere else for hibatchi or sushi in Miami! Love this place!

The rolls are huge here. If you're wondering which rolls to order try the Kamakaze roll. It's definitely worth the money and unlike most sushi rolls, this one alone might just fill you up! The restaurant is divided into "sushi" (regular tables) or "Teppanyaki" (a la BeniHana). While I've never tried the Teppanyaki section , they look like they put on a show so it's great fun for the whole family. It's good to mention that the place gets jammed packed on Friday and Saturday nights. Not really a good place for an impromptu date or last minute plans to eat here because you'll be waiting a while. We did this once and ended up just getting our food to go. Ruson is in a strip mall a few doors down from Publix so be prepared for some foot traffic and a little bit of a parking nightmare.

Top notch sushi and hibachi grill conveniently located in the kendall area! We frequent Ruson for our sushi fix, here is what we love and order just about every time ( we are so boring): * house salad with ginger dressing (yum) * I love Lucy roll - huge roll with fried shrimp, avocado, cream cheese and topped with lots of sinful tempura crunch $16.95 but well worth it! * Ruson Roll- how bad can it be if it's the house specialty? Tempura shrimp, asparagus, cream cheese drizzled with spicy mayo and eel sauce $11.95. I ask for extra spicy mayo and eel sauce on the side for added dipping fun. * Chicken Fried Rice- this is just delicious and it's the best of both worlds (hibachi and sushi) so if you can't make a decision like us then have both! We ask for the white sauce/shrimp sauce from the hibachi side and drizzle that heavenly stuff on our rice. Makes for delicious leftovers as well! $9.95 We usually are too stuffed at this point to order dessert but have been known to take an order of Thai donuts home with us! Whatever you order you can't go wrong with Ruson!

This is probably on my top 5 list of best restaurants ever. This is a great place to go with family, friends, or even... A date. When you enter you have the option for traditional waiter dining or the choice where the cook comes in front of the table and cooks a meal. If you choose the one where the cook is in front of you be prepared to be combined with another group.

I like most things about Ruson. They used to hold the #1 spot in my heart for Sushi but recently lost their place to Fujiya mostly due to the experiences at both places when compared. The folks at Fujiya are far far nicer and more attentive. I've been ignored and/or forgotten at the counter when picking up an order - a few times. The new rule about having to imprint your credit card is ludicrous. The bathroom is raggedy and dirty. Raggedy is understandable for older places, but there is not excuse for it being dirty. It's a huge pet peeve of mine! Both Ruson and Fujiya are located on the South side of Kendall Drive (SW 88 Street) and just West of 137 Avenue. The shopping centers are oddly divided. If going to Ruson, enter through the Publix entrance from 88th. You'll find it to the right of Broadway Bagels. Ruson is a large space with lots of tables, barstools are the sushi bar and even Hibachi tables. Folks usually dine at those for special events, I've noticed. Especially when they play the "Happy Birthday" song over the speakers. LOL I like Ruson's House Salad with Orange ginger dressing. I think its my favorite anywhere. It comes with plenty of dressing on top and the veggies are always cold and crisp. A big wedge of tomato adds the perfect amount of moisture. I also enjoy the Plum wine - but it's really the same or about the same anywhere you go. I've tried their fried rice and it was gross. The pool of oil on the bottom of the take out container was something I had never seen before. I held back the rice and poured the oil into the trash when I got home. I'd say, stick to the sushi rolls here. If I go to Ruson, I usually keep it simple and order the JB roll and a house salad. I've had some of their other specialty rolls but none were memorable. I do remember my bf having a fried JB roll. I had a couple pieces and they had entirely too much batter. Neither one of us liked it. I suppose I'll be back for simple items or if it is outside of Fujiya's business hours.

I'm not a picky eater, as long as you have a establishment with good food and good service. This place is great for a second date or a night out with your significant other. Either side of the dining room is good, and the food very well seasoned and fresh.

This place never disappoints. The I love Lucy roll is delicious! Last night we noticed that a lot of people were ordering the volcano roll. I'll definitely have to try it next time we go. My husband and I have been faithful to Ruson for many, many years. The place could use some updating, and the disco balls/loud music/flickering lights when singing happy birthday can get really annoying if you go on a day when they have several birthdays (which was the case for us last night). The fried ice cream was okay, but could've used more ice cream - it was less than a scoop, so we were fighting over the good part the whole time. The tuna tataki was served ice cold - which I loooooove. They have gotten pretty pricey compared to other places. I rather go to Sushi Maki and pay $75 for a "nicer" dinner than what I got at Ruson.

Probably some of the best sushi you can eat in this city for your money. This place is no hype just walk up to the sushi bar and watch the masters at work. My favorite is the Miami Heat roll, others are I love lucy and Eel tempura. They also have Tepanyaki if you want fried rice but the sushi is where its at. It's always so fresh, the staff always nice and attentive. For birthdays they do a silly light show that's very amusing. I will even go as far as to say take a drive all the way to west kendall for this sushi because it's a gem. But if you can't make it out here they also have a sister location by the name of Bangkok City with great sushi as well.

Ruson is absolutely my favorite spot for sushi and hibachi , it is conveniently located in the heart of west Kendall . The price is affordable and since the service is fast your wait time is Moderate unlike other restaurants in the area. Some of my favorite rolls are:yah-bah roll and kamakazee accompanied by special fried rice. This Place definitely need some remodeling but food will not disappoint you !

Cool little Japanese/ Thai restaurant on Kendall near 137th, right by the Publix. The place is rather nice inside and they have a sushi bar as well as teppanyaki. Being that it is the sister restaurant to Bangkok City, the menus are near identical. I got the Duck Basil because I just had to compare it with the Bangkok City Version. Not many differences, but it was pricier, more saucy, and limited rice. The Duck meat was good. The skin was still crisp and the sauce still flavourful. There were a lot more veggies, which is a plus for most. The friends for sushi and volcano chicken and both looked pretty decent as well. The service was about slow but nice nonetheless. The place had got several TV's so you can watch any game that's on. It also gets really packed at night and we went fairly large so I can only imagine their busier nights.

Almi R.
My favorite go-to sushi restaurant. Always fresh and ways provides good food. Their teppanyaki can't be beat. Believe it or not, my favorite part is that I can order it without having to watch them cook it. I will usually order it on the sushi side (of the restaurant) and enjoy my meal without the long drawn out process of the usual teppanyaki mission. Don't get me wrong, sometimes it's fun. But for the most part, walking out of a restaurant smelling like you've been cooking all day isn't my thing. I can enjoy my delicious meal all at once without all the pomp and circumstance. Love this place! I wish they had happy hour.....

Let me tell you Miami has an over abundance of Sushi places, so trying to find a genuine non-commercialized chain is hard, but look no further. Ruson is the hot spot for the most innovative and flavorful sushi anywhere .period. This place is a gem, hidden away next to a Publix... It's always fresh and the service is always great. I highly recommend this spot.

Hands down my favorite sushi place, not only because of the quality but the quantity of their rolls! The family friendly service cherry tops my dining experience as well! Sit at the sushi bar and you'll find their chefs must've been comedians in their past life cause they chat up a storm just enough to entertain you and your sake bomb dates! My friends and I were STARVING and went all out by ordering three sushi rolls, a chicken pad Thai, and volcano chicken. We were very pleased with the timing between our dishes! First, our sushi came out within 10 minutes of ordering. Jungle boy: if you're a fan of salmon skin, eel, and are very fond of having fruit in your sushi, you'll enjoy this! Slightly crunchy salmon skin with banana and eel. Since the eel is already sweet due to the eel sauce drizzled over the roll, the banana adds an extra hint of sweetness. Hot and sexy roll: a special that is not in the menu but posted on the white board beside the bar. shrimp tempura, avocado, asparagus, cucumber, and tempura flakes poured on top to add texture! FLAWLESS. I love Lucy: a fan favorite that will never get old. Shrimp tempura, cream cheese, avocado, imitation crab, and tempura flakes doused over the roll with spicy mayo and eel sauce drizzled atop of it. 10 minutes after we devoured the rolls, our Thai dishes came! Dining timing at its finest since we barely had any room on our table for more, but since we had already finished the sushi, our sever was able to clear those plates to make room for the entrees. Chicken volcano: this is the best sweet chili sauce you will ever encounter for Thai! If you have a palette for spicy... Ask for medium because it's the ideal blend where the chili is hot enough to sip water after each bite, but at the same time does not over power the sweet chili flavor. This dish is an explosion in your mouth when eaten with white rice. Pad Thai: BEST PAD THAI IN TOWN! It's so hard to finds restaurant where pad Thai is made correctly but I'm not surprised that Ruson has theirs on lock, especially when their kitchen chefs are Thai. :) they also serve the peanuts on the side, which is very considerate for consumers who are allergic but aren't aware of the fact that this dish is served with peanuts. Sprinkle them on top of the pad Thai and squeeze a lemon wedge to bring out the flavor!

We had a variety of dishes. The food was ok. The only dish that I didn't care for was their pad thai; it was a bit too sweet. The service however, was excellent.

The hibachi was good, but the sushi has too much rice per piece/roll. While i know extra rice is more satisfying to your hunger, It drowns out the flavor.

One of my absolute favorite sushi restaurants as well as habachi. The food here is always fresh and so tasty. The flavor combinations and roll selection is amazing. It is in a stop mall and it does not look the fanciest but it makes up for it in taste. I like the casual and relax atmosphere. I have been coming here for years and the service is always excellent.

I noticed that lately I have only been reviewing places I didn't like, so I decided it's time to even it out and talk about a place I love!!! I had been wanting to try Ruson for a while now, I finally did about a month ago and I am hooked!!!! This is by far the best sushi in the area!!! And this is coming from someone who pretty much only eats sushi. All the rolls are perfect!! Delicious and huge!!! My most frequently ordered are the Tanzana roll, the American Dream 2 but all of them are great!! The fried rice is a must try!!! My favorite is the crab and shrimp fried rice with the pink sauce, I order it every time along with two rolls to share with my husband!! We always end up having to take the rice much since it is way too much food but it's so delicious!!! I highly recommend this place!

What can I say about this place that has not been said already? I love me some good old sushi and this place has so much variety that they make it hard to decide... so you end up ordering a bunch of rolls and taking half of it home. Ha! The good thing about this place is that you do not have to sit on the side where they cook in front of you- I hate how you come out smelling from that. For me, the biggest downside is that it is a little run down and could use some tlc. I know it has been there a while but come on guys, a little clean up and touch-up can do wonders. Must try- the Miami Heat roll... so so so yummy

I'm a sushi connoisseur and Ruson is hands down one of the best in Miami! I Love Lucy roll is a must have! Every other roll is amazing!!

I got the shrimp. It was really good. Came with shrimp, fried rice, vegetables, soup, and salad. The soup wasn't the best but everything else was really good.

Small and cozy place. Seems family run. We sat down for hibachi and thought we would have to wait a bit since no one else was at our table. However service was quick and we were the only ones with the chef cooking for us. Food was great and service was very nice.

Excellent food but the music sometimes is very obnoxious and the quality of the music bad!! Perfect sushi!!

Very good sushi Restaurant in West Kendall, generous portions. We came here on a Thursday night and it was busy and lively. They play popular music, good for families. We had the Edamame, Tom Ka soup and the Volcano Roll. All good except too much mayo on the Volcano Roll for my taste. I haven't tried the steak side of the restaurant, but you do end up smelling like it. :/

A fun hibachi restaurant in Kendall, Ruson is sure to serve you great food. Whether you're in the mood for some sushi or hibachi you won't be disappointed. The service is really good, I'll say it's better than most restaurants in south Florida. (Not impressed with south Florida restaurant service) The layout is a little funny and the barbershop next door can interrupt the serenity of Ruson's by playing loud music. Yet I wouldn't let that discourage you from eating dinner here. Portion size is very filling, so if you're in the mood to try a variety of food you better make sure you brought your appetite. The highlight of my visit here was the fact that they have toys for little kids. That was a first, and a very convenient first. Having tv's in the dining room is a close second. Lol. Ruson is a good restaurant that is sure to offer you a great dining experience

Was planning to have lunch here today but the strong, awful moldy smell stopped me from sitting down. Floor was sticky, carpet really dirty. I noticed only 2 people in the restaurant. I've eaten here before but never had this experience--won't come back anytime soon. Also, the handmade sign by the register about an automatic 18% gratuity being added to the bill makes this place too pricey for my dollars. You can get good food for less elsewhere.

Can't get enough of this place. Last night my group of 6 dined on the Hibachi side for the first time after having it recommended to us by 2 different people. Let me say, I was not disappointed! The hibachi menu items consist of tofu, sirloin steak, chicken, or shrimp with special fried rice, a miso soup, and the most delicious ginger salad. The prices range from around $20-$27 per meal. I found the chef to be very talented, performing tricks none of us had seen at a hibachi-style restaurant before. We got the steak, chicken, and shrimp. They were all delicious and flavorful. We also ordered some sushi rolls we hadn't tried: the tornado and the melting. They were both good, but the melting roll was beyond what I expected. It looked full and was covered in those yummy little crunchy things that I love, hehe. Overall, wonderful evening. Our bill included a 15% gratuity but the service here really is excellent, so I think it's only right to leave more!

I love Ruson. It's our place to go to for great Japanese food. My bf and I always go in cute dates together there and order the special friend rice and the American Dream II (2) roll which is more than enough to share. The sushi is fresh and the service is very friendly; the owner is always welcoming you by the door. The atmosphere is calm and serene enough to have a good conversation. Overall, the food is superb! I would definitely recommend Ruson if you want to have a great dinner.

Great place to eat,I usually get the I love Lucy rolls and my husband the samurai , yummm

Supitcha K.
I had sushi sashimi combo for lunch. Everything was good until I are the white fish sushi on my plate. It tasted and smelled like something that went bad in your fridge for over a week. The texture of the tuna sashimi was almost like jello and had no taste to it. Overall, the service was "ok" and everything was good... Except the tuna and white fish sashimi.

Less of a line than the comparable locations - Benihana and Samurai - even on a Friday or Saturday night. Great food, great sushi. Their prices have been steadily climbing over the years, and they eliminated delivery from their offerings. Nowadays, expect to pay about $30 per person. There's better food around for that price. Try Aoki in Dadeland for a nicer ambiance.

A family restaurant. Love it!! Will recommend it to anyone, my son is obsessed with the sauce and the show.

By far my FAVORITE sushi restaurant. The fish and ingredients are always fresh. My favorite rolls range from the yakuza and the Miami heat to the more common rolls such as the volcano and the jb roll. I can honestly say they have the best tasting miso soup in Miami. I've literally tasted the miso soup in every Japanese restaurant I've eaten at, and Ruson miso soup tops them all. I highly recommended this restaurant!

I've lived in Kendall for over a year now and I had never made it to Ruson until today. My husband and I were famished after a long day of running around and decided to give it a shot. We ordered the tempura appetizer, Miami Heat Roll, Tanzana Roll and I Love Lucy Roll. Everything was really spot on except for the sweet potatoes in the tempura, those were undercooked. I'm willing to be forgiving as everything else was tasty and the prices are great! I will be back :)

I came here with my daughter and we both are very happy with the service here. The sushi rolls are fresh and come with plenty rolls to fill you up. Its by far the best sushi place around kendall

I love this place! Giving it 4 stars because it needs a lil TLC but overall my family and I love coming here. Tonight we came with friends and the cook wasn't at all into it after a misunderstanding with someone else at the table. Not our fault at all and it hurt the experience and the food. On the hibachi side we normally get chicken and fillet mignon with an extra fried rice and share it. We prefer clear soup vs miso. Their tuna tataki is usually fresh. Tai doughnuts, yum! Love going for lunch, less people and lower prices.

Ruson has a great reputation for a reason. Everything they make tastes fresh and delicious. They have excellent rolls (both cooked and uncooked) and their fried rice is perfection. Some of our favorite items have been: - Kamakazee roll (shrimp tempura, cooked salmon, avocado, cream cheese, the works!) - Curry chicken is excellent - Special and chicken fried rice is delicious and big enough to share I don't go anywhere else when I'm in the sushi/japanese food mood. The restaurant ambiance in casual and family friendly. Also if you have a toddler or little one, they have toys at the front of the restaurant that they let you borrow to entertain the kids. Overall, great experience every time.

This place and Bonsai are both my favorite sushi places in west miami. I might even like Ruson more than bonsai. The Yah-Bah roll is my favorite, followed by the Kamakazii and the I love lucy roll! Their Tuna Tataki is to die for!!

Ruson is a tepanake restaurant where they cook in front of you.My family loves it.However the rolls are ok.I would recommend Moon for japanese rolls .They are great. The desserts at Ruson are great too!As for alcoholic beverages stick to sake or plum wine.

Very tasty food and entertaining friendly chef. It was really the best Japanese food I ever have had. Service fee is mandatory tacked on at 18 % and would explain why the waitress was not overly attentive and forgot to refill my glass of water. I managed to get my Sapporo though so I was still happy. Great fun place w excellent food.

I come here all the time, Ruson is the best sushi place I've tried and I love sushi so I always try different sushi places but this one is the best so far.. My favorite rolls are I love lucy, kamikaze, yah-bah and the lobster roll is the best.

Food is about average for Japanese fare found in Miami. Service is decent but on a few occasions we waited much longer for service than we expected. Some of the rolls are a bit too sweet. Their Thai menu is also average.

Service is always polite and my boyfriend loves the Volcano chicken, which is made super fresh and to order as well. i always take visitors here and they are blown away. gotta love the ru!

Was looking for sushi, and saw this place close by with decent reviews. We started with the "I Love Lucy" roll and it was fantastic. Off the hibachi grill, I ordered the filet and the shrimp. As with other hibachi grills I have eaten at, they don't season the food very much on the grill but instead provide you with a couple of different dipping sauces. An overall good experience, I will definitely return the next time I'm in town. ** someone recently asked "if you liked it so much why only three stars" well, short answer is this was one of my first reviews and as such I kind of left out the negatives that factored into my rating. As I stated above, the sushi roll was fantastic but the hibachi was just ok. There were also some lags in service and the restaurant is pretty noisy. Nothing that would keep me from going back, I would just order differently next time.

The other positive reviews pretty much sum up our experience. Went there on a Saturday night and thankfully, it was not too packed. Very friendly/casual atmosphere with various college football games on the big screen tv's. The service is excellent: courteous, fast, and friendly. Both of our specialty rolls were huge and filled us up. I strongly recommend their new "I love lucy" roll. There is no question we will be back.

Came here for the Hibachi style dinner. The portions were really large and the food tasted pretty good. However, i noticed that the cook would just slightly wipe his blade after cutting raw chicken and then handled the other food with the same knife. I came out of that place feeling really sick to my stomach! I don't know for sure if i became ill due to how the food was handled but why risk eating here again? I'll pass.

I highly recommend this place. The service is so-so (sometimes) but the sushi is great and fresh! yum! The singing of the happy birthday is cheesy but I love it. I haven't tried the hibachi side but it's always packed and from reading reviews, it has made me what to try it.

I love this place. Ive had most of their sushi rolls and i must say theyre all great. My favorite roll has always been the jp/ bagel roll and they always make it fresh and delicous. You must try their i love lucy roll as well. They never dissapoint

I've been to Ruson so many times...I love this place. The rolls are huge!, the service is good and the price is just right. They also have hibachi tables in case u want to have a big meal with friends or family. Only problem is the parking. Since its located inside a shopping plaza is sometimes hard to find. Besides that..is soo good!.

Oh, Ruson. I don't think you are aware of my love affair for you. It's been years and while I have visited other sushi restaurants, at the end of the day, it's you. It's always been you. You are my dirty little secret. One that I care not to divulge with the world but always DO! What can I say? I have conflicting thoughts. Everyone must know how great you are but at the same time, they can't (because I want you all for myself). Since initially meeting you to now, I've seen how you've changed as more people pay attention to you. I'm hoping that one day, you'll return back to your old humble self. For example, in the past, before every meal, you used to give free little cucumber things to eat, refreshing our palettes. That disappeared shortly after you hit stardom in the sushi-world. Let's not forget the scorching hot towels you also gave each person to clean hands. Now, nothing. It's a gamble if we even get the towel. :( You haven't changed completely though and I especially see that one of your waiters has been there FOREVER. Kudos to that. If you're ever weary about sushi, come to Ruson! I have been frequenting this place for YEARS and they have never steered me wrong. The prices are totally do-able and makes for a cute date place. Oh, and desert? THAI DONUTS. It's a must. Most night you'll be able to walk right in without a reservation. Even on the busiest nights, the service is always outstanding and the taste, never falters.

I've been coming here for years and have always been a fan. The kamakazi roll is my new favorite and the I love lucy is amazing. There is always great service, fresh sushi, and a good atmosphere. Try it out you will like it. Thai donuts, Mmm!!!

It was my first time at this rest. The staff was really welcoming, great service. One things I didn't like to much was that the sushi I tried (volcano)it was too greasy. I've had this dish before in another sushi place and the taste is more light. The atmosphere was really nice.

This is the main restaurant that my husband and I go to when we want to eat sushi. The service is always good and although it is pretty busy, we always are seated quite quickly. Every roll I have tried there is delicious. I recommend the I Love Lucy roll, the Kamakazee roll, and the American Dream roll. The pad thai is delicious and their fried rice is to die for. Try it out!!!

My main complaint is that it is kind of pricey here. However, the service is great and the atmosphere is nice. The food is excellent too. I've gone a few times, more for parties because of the price. I like that they have Beni Hana style tables where they have the chef come out and cook for you at the table. They usually put on a little show/entertainment which is nice. I'd recommend the Ruson roll, it's one of my favorites.

This is a lot better than Sushi Maki (although I do miss their salmon roll). Why is it better? Portions are bigger, less rice, more sushi stuffings are among the reasons. Oh and let's not forget about the price - they're very reasonable and comparable. So there's more a bang for the buck. The tempura ice cream was good. Also, I recommend the Ruson roll (10 pieces) that costed about $9.50. It has fry shrimp, crab, asparagus, scallion, cream cheese and masago. Ambience is casual yet trendy enough to not feel like you're eating in a shitty area. The lamps are nice, and probably the best place to sit is by the sushi bar. But hurry up, because the sushi bar tends to be packed! There is also several hibachi grills on site as this place is also a steakhouse. They also serve thai food on the premises. They also deliver. But if you don't feel like picking up the phone, head over to Kendall, guys!

Food was very good but overall decor was'nt... It was sort of expensive and loud music gave it sort of a cheasy sports bar feel, even though they did'nt even have a full bar.

Oh Ruson you are so good to me! Ruson has been my go to sushi restaurant for the last few years. Something about it just keeps me coming back. Apparently I'm not the only 1 because on some nights it's packed. Love the fact that now they do local delivery. There is the restriction of $20 minimum & only on the weekday. My favorite roll is the Ruson roll. Yumm. Even their habachi is good. They have an awesome chicken fried rice. Im lovin' it

I've had fresh pieces of tuna before but never as fresh and as silky perfect texture that this piece of tuna was. Their portions were double fo what I am use to for hibachi style cooking. Their chicken/shrimp pad thai is one of the best in miami. Service was excellent, we were in a group of more than 20 and the easily accomidated us and split all our bills so that way there was no confusion at the end.

For fresh sushi in Kendall, Ruson always hits the spot. I was craving avocado and sushi. Even though I am not a big cooked fish fan, I ordered the Dragon Roll. In addition to the Dragon roll, I ordered the Spicy Tuna and the Yah-Blah roll that someone ( will remain anonymous) suggested. I ordered pick up and it was ready within the 25 minutes they told me. The Dragon roll was warm as of the tempura was just made and the avocado on the roll was perfect. The Spicy tuna was fresh and tasty. As you may know, it is hard to go wrong when it comes to making the Spicy tuna roll, so I expected it to be good. The Yah-Blah roll was interesting. It was fresh and good except for the chez sauce on top, too creamy, but I removed the little chez and it was fantastic. Yah-blah sounded interesting to a 420 individual...we ordered it, it's pretty much like a shrimp tempura roll with smoked salmon and cream cheese on top. It was good. I recommend the Dragon Roll if you decide to go. Also order a side a spicy mayo that always makes life a little sweeter.

Sushi is great and the little bit of hibachi I managed to taste was good too. I like coming here with my family when I'm craving sushi since they don't usually eat sushi and opt for a warm meal. Ruson allows everyone to leave content and manages to satisfy a larger parties cravings.

I didn't try the sushi, but their teppanyaki is really good. We had the filet mignon, chicken, and shrimp with fried rice and veggies. The service was also very prompt and courteous. I am not usually in this area, but the next time I am, I will make note to stop by this place again!

The BEST SUSHI period, i've been a costumer here for several years and in between my visits i have tried other sushi restaurants that many MANY people claim to have the best sushi in town but there is no comparison to Ruson. the last time i did this was like about a month ago i was craving sushi sooo bad and was in the south miami area so i decided to give Akashi a chance (for like the 4th time) because people always talk really good about it ... but half-way through our meal my sister and i were so disappointed we couldn't eat anymore... we usually NEVER do this. I felt like i didn't really eat sushi so the very next day i went back to Ruson and it was SOOooooOOOo Good. My favorite rolls are the "I Love Lucy Roll" and the "Kamikaze Roll"

Don't hate me but I'm one of the minority who is not ooooohhhinn and awwwwweeeing over Ruson. Yes, it's good sushi. Is it the best in Kendall- most likely. There's an amazing, little Japanese restaurant in Doral that is way better.

First time visiting. Went based off of ratings of others and was pleasantly surprised. As a vegetarian usually bot a lot of options. Here they had an excellent fried tofo option. I would highly recommend based on quality of flavor.

Love it. The sushi is fresh. The fried rice is DELICIOUS. Try it with the shrimp sauce.

The teppan was very good. Ordered the steak and scallops and it was well cooked. I would have given it higher stars but they ran out of cold saki and kirin, at 7pm, on a Tuesday.

I had heard about this place for some time but never bothered to try it b/c it was kind of outta the way and Samurai was my go-to Japanese steakhouse. A tank with koi fish greets you as soon as you walk in. And as you do they ask if you're gonna eat Thai or Japanese. Hmm, well I haven't seen a menu yet but I guess Japanese. They ask because the restaurant is divided between the flat iron grills and tables (which there aren't that many of). The place has been there for a while I can tell. The decor is nice but it looks like they could use a remodel. So we looked over the menu and were disappointed to find out that there's not a lunch menu on Sundays. Whatever. So my wife and our friend ordered the chicken meal which came w/ a delicious miso soup, salad, tons of grilled veggies, and shrimp appetizer. Not bad. you get your money's worth and it was actually pretty good. I decided to be different and order from the Thai menu. Big mistake. I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai and it was so incredibly sweet it felt like I was eating a plate of noodles tossed in reeses peanut butter cups. I literally felt like I was eating candy. I couldn't eat it any more and I really tried thinking it was going to taste better. Worst pad thai I've ever had. Told the server but at that point my appetite was killed. I felt like I had eaten a bag of halloween candy right before thanksgiving dinner. The ladies enjoyed their meal so that's all that matters. The only place I could compare this to would be Samurai near the falls shopping center and I would have to say that place is better. The service wasn't all that great either. Our server seemed like she was having a bad day or had an extremely bad hangover or both. Who knows? Anyway, it wasn't a bad place but if I had my choice of Japanese or asian restaurants this wouldn't be one of my top choices.

Ok I am a Japanese snob - my fiance and I are obsessed with Japanese food, it is definitely are guilty pressure because its so expensive!! I really like this place but I personally wouldn't go here again. Their sushi options is huge and they are so good!!!! I tried three different sushi plates and I loved them all but they are very expensive. I don't remember the name but one of them cost $14 - I find that high! Their other food like the teriyaki and shrimp tempura is good, but unfortunately I've had better. The waitress was really helpful and she even gave me her suggestions as to what sushi type to try! The place it self I didn't like that much because it looks like a plain Chinese restaurant - it didn't give me the Japanese restaurant feeling! I cant explain exactly what the feeling is but Ruson definitely didn't cause it.....Overall, I would recommend it because the food quality and taste is good and the place is very casual! Its a good family place to go to!

If you love hibachi or just want some yummy sushi, then this is the place to go. The staff are very friendly and attentive and the chefs give a good "mini dinner show" as they cook your food in front of you. When you walk in, the restaurant is divided in to two sections: Hibachi or Sushi. The hostess immediately acknowledges you and asks which side you'll be eating in. Great place to eat! Also not as crowded as Samurai.

I went to Ruson w/a friend and decided to sit at the overcrowded sushi bar. I don't want to over-criticize BUT they REALLY TRIED to sit some stranger between us (at the bar). I don't get it! The food was fine but wasn't enjoyed to full potential...the service was being overwhelmed by inexperience and a surplus of tables. If you decide to go there, show up mid-week during off peak hours.

the food is good, but the service lacks. i came for dinner on a friday night and it was so overcrowded and my waiter had 3 other tables so, he never came to ask if we wanted anything else or if the food was good. i will be back because, the food is really good just not for dinner. i shared with a friend an eel roll which i had never had before and it was so good and there ruson roll was even better.

I really like this place... it's not fancy but nice, the sushi is fresh and delicious, the fried rice is lethal (so so good) and the service pretty good unless you get there at the end of the night and they start vacuuming next to you (happened to us twice lol). They also offer teppan style dinning (like Samurai/Benihana where they cook at your table) which is also a great option. I haven't tried that because I'm such a big fan of their sushi... but is def on my list.

I came here on a Saturday night in a group of 5 and didn't have a problem getting a table. I'm on a mission to find the best sushi spots in Kendall and Ruson was on my hitlist. When I try a new sushi restaurant, I like to try their specialty rolls to see what unique flavors they can offer. I decided to go with a Tornado Roll and a Fox Tail Roll. The Tornado had three types of fish and asparagus. The asparagus made me wish I hadn't tried it. The Fox Tail Roll was pretty good, and featured shrimp tempura . How can you really go wrong with shrimp tempura? Also, had some of my friend's sashimi which was pretty fresh. A word of advice. Ruson is supposed to close at 11 PM on Saturdays, and the server kept reminding us that the kitchen would be closed about 15 minutes before 11. However, a few groups came right before closing and they were still seated. If you are having a late night craving for Ruson, you might still be able to make it before they close. Overall I would give this place about 2.5 stars. Our waiter that evening was not very attentive. Also, the sushi was cheap (most rolls under 10$) but they were mediocre in my opinion. I can't rate the rest of the items on the menu, or the thai food, but I would probably not come here again.

This is the Sushi restaurant that I most often frequent. It's the best Sushi in the area. The prices are very reasonable, and the Sushi is fresh and done well.

The best sushi by far in Kendall, in my opinion. Freshest fish! All their rolls are awesome! and a good fried ice cream. They have a sushi side and the other side is teppanyaki where the chef cooks in front of you. Open later than most sushi restaurants in the area. so when you're craving that sushi late at night....you know where to go!

This is absolutely my favorite restaurant in Miami. The vibe is chill and the food is fresh. I mostly eat the sushi and the rolls but I've also had the pad thai, fried rice, cashew chicken and the seafood tempura. It's all been great food--except for the seafood tempura, I don't recommend it ( I love this place so much that, I've forgiven). I have everyone try the Yah-Bah roll (heart) I don't know what it is about the combination but, it's heaven. They came up with a new "Sumo" roll. I can't wait to try it =OD The French, Caliente and Kanisu rolls are also REALLY good. Banana tempura with ice cream, fried ice cream and thai donuts are a few of the desserts I've tried. They have a funky beans ice cream I haven't dared touch, though. If you want to catch a game, they've got a few TVs. The chefs are all really cool so it's nice to sit at the bar. They don't mind if you ask questions--which is refreshing in Miami. The owner is really sweet and always seems to be around checking things out. Now I'm in the mood for Sushi!!

one day i got the sudden urge to be nice and take my mom out for lunch so i asked my friend in class where i should take her. she replied ruson so 20 minutes later im on my way. my friend suggested that i get the kamikaze roll and so i did. my mom loves sushi but she isnt too big on variation so she just got the california roll. the kamikaze roll was splendid. i loved loved LOVED it. soooo good. and the california roll was... a california roll. im not a big fan. my brother was with us and he got the special fried rice and when the waitress showed up, i was surprised at how big the serving amount was. and it was oh so good. the prices were fair and the service was good. not great though. for dessert, we got the banana tempura, a fried banana sort of thing with ice cream. it wasnt the greatest thing ever but it was pretty good i definitely recommend this place

i've been a couple time now during work lunches. it's usually pretty good. i almost always get the lunch box special. the last time we all went, we did the hibachi... well it was very tasty. however, the two people who got the scallops did not do so well after lunch. both became VERY ill. i still gave them 3 stars, cause i did genuinely like the place (though i am scared to go back now) and also, since i wasn't the one who got sick. needless to say, we have not gone back (though i am tempted, maybe they just had a bad shipment of scallops or something). ~ever the optimist

I went to this place for lunch. they have lunch specials. Quickly seated, menu in hand my drinks arrived right away. I ordered the sushi box with sushi & chicken teriyaki. The chicken teriyaki was great, and so were the 3 pieces of sushi that came with my meal. the California roll that accompanied the meal was very small. The lunch specials come with either soup or salad. The service was effective for the most part, but not very attentive. and the food was pretty good for the most part, I wish their portions would have been a bit larger since I walked out of the place still hungry. Their prices are a bit high compared to the amount of food they serve.

I reserve my reviews for multiple visits, because sometimes the first is tainted by our expectations; and I had high ones for Ruson based on reviews and friends' comments. However, in this case I have made an exception because although the food quality may differ depending on what you order, the service and price do not. The service I got was so bad that I tipped a sorry 10% and it should have been zero. The food was ok but not for the quantity and the price. I can say for sure that I will never drop another dollar at this place. The owner/manager needs to be on top of the game and in this place they are definitely not!

It's been two weeks now since I've visited Ruson. As I sit here wanting to review it, I really can't recall anything good nor bad about the place. I know I ordered one of their special sushi rolls advertised on the board. However, what exactly was in it escapes me. So this just tells me that Ruson is your average sushi joint. Nothing to go out of your way for, in my opinion.

I will be short and to the point: When you enter a Japanese place it should not smell like rotten eggs inside. The warning that I chose to ignore reading all the wonderful reviews of this place . Food was brought up fast , decent service Had sashimi and famous Love Lucy roll, tasted fine but most certainly gave me major GI problem an hour later. Such a shame , since I really wanted to like this place and come back. Not a chance now!

This is my one of my favorite restaurants! I come here at least once a week! Food is excellent and very fresh! Shrimp fried rice is amazing! I Love Lucy, Green Dragon, and Kamikaze are my favorite! The ginger dressing salad is also spectacular!

1 star for having a wrbsite and also Yelp claim that tonight, you are open until 11:00pm. At 10:25pm, cslled requesting an order fort take out. I was told they were closed. I will not give this restaurant my business, and quite frankly this is now the 3rd time in 5 days that such has happened to me while attempting to use Yelp with a filter of restaurants that are still open.

I have been frequenting this place for years. Since they opened pretty much. Practically an institution in the West Kendall area. I am pretty sure every resident has eaten here at least once. Decent enough rolls and tapanyaki. Lots to choose from the menu. They have the standard sushi restaurant rolls along with several of their own concoctions. A large venue so they can accommodate a large parties easily.

Good food, great ambiance. All the best of Samurai without the terrible parking and long waits. We will definitely be back and with family and friends in tow.

My super, duper, favorite sushi restaurant ... PERIOD! Great food, great service and great location! When I go with my boyfriend, we do teppanyaki and have a lovely romantic time and when I go with my girls, it's all about sushi and all about the I LOVE LUCY ROLL! Nothing like it!!!
(5)
Ana Cristina P.
I used to go to Ruson just for sushi, because it was decent. I used to go to Ruson just for sushi, because it was conveniently nearby. But now, I go to Ruson just for teppanyaki, because...deliciousness. Since discovering some better sushi places, I no longer get sushi here...but man, is their teppanyaki tasty! Service seems to be speedier on this side of the restaurant than on the sushi side...not sure why. There are many things I love about Ruson's teppanyaki. The sense of community at the dining area that comes as a result of sitting next to strangers enjoying the same delicious meal. The freshness of the food on my plate. The silly chef antics (onion volcanoes, heart shaped fried rice, FLAMES up in your face). Ahh, it's all so kawaii! It's a little pricy at 22 bucks a dish for chicken...BUT considering it comes with soup, salad, and a giant bowl of fried rice, it's all well worth it. Mmm... I think I'll go have my leftovers now.

Virginia M.
Why hello best sushi place in town! Yup, this is officially my favorite sushi joint. You get what you pay for which translates to paying the normal $11-15 for a sushi roll and actually getting CHUNKS of sushi- not microscopic amounts of fish. Do I really need to say more? Okay, fine. I will. Service was great and they left us alone most of the evening checking on us every so often which was great going to dinner with the boyfriend. Give us our space people! Cleanliness is very good on the restaurant floor which thank you as I don't want to get some godforsaken disease! Parking could be a little...annoying. Yes. But it is SO worth it. Now get your sushi-lovin' butt in this place. Douzo Meshiagare!

I have a thing with combo restaurants. I really feel like you can only be very good at one thing. I don't like Chinese restaurants that stick a sushi bar in the back, and I don't like the idea of a Japanese steakhouse offering up Thai food. HOWEVER, I really do enjoy their pad thai. It's actually all I come to Ruson for. I like it so much that I haven't ventured into any of their Japanese cuisine. I think it's the raw peanuts sprinkled over top. On my last trip to Ruson, the service was painfully slow. There was a Heat game on which our server was far more interested in. While I do enjoy their pad thai, I'm no longer convinced it's worth the drive out to Kendall.

This is really a good place to eat sushi in Kendall. I highly recommend their spicy seafood salad if you're into spicy ceviche. It is one of those things I only find here and it is delicious! Definitely what keeps me coming back!

Love this place! I've never been disappointed! Sushi (my favorite is the dragon roll and I love Lucy) always fresh and delicious and the hibachi is very good too!

Me likey! Came in for a healthy lunch so didn't try any creative rolls, but I really enjoyed their sushi, sashimi and sunomono box lunch special!! Everything was fresh and delish and good portion sizes! Only gets four stars because it wasn't the best white fish, but the salmon and Tuna were soooo good. Thumbs up for the service too - really nice staff! Can't wait to come in while not on a diet to try some of their rolls! They sound amaze balls like the lobster roll!!!!

Great Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Restaurant. If you want to you can sit at a table were the chef comes to your table and cooks in front of staff is friendly and helpful in choosing items off the menu,

Sorry but when I order spicy octopus and I receive a mountain of carrots garnished with slivers of octopus, you feel let down. Yes the food is good but I remember the days when Ruson served healthy portions not scraps. We also had uni that tasted a few days past prime. The service was also average at best. Please go back to what made you popular, and we will come back.

This restaurant is great. It's a small hole in the wall in a Publix strip mall but don't let that fool you. The food is great and at a reasonable price. They have hibachi in one side and regular takes in the other. I haven't had the chance to try the hibachi but I come mostly for their sushi. I love the Boston roll and their salad! I've tried their fried rice and I liked it as well. I may need to cone back just to try the hibachi! Three staff are friendly and they help you if you have any questions.

Service a little slow especially forNew Years Eve when the place has plenty of seating. Food was delicious as usual but my daughter was served her Katsu before they had even begun to cook our Tepanyaki so by the time we were beginning our dinner she had finished. The Tepanyaki onion volcano was a fun added touch that the kids loved. When my husband couldn't get the waiter's attention out Tepanyaki chef immediately noticed, knew what we needed and ordered it for us right away. Plenty of food, especially the hefty sized lobster portions. Overall good yet fattening experience. We'll be back.

Delicious and dependable! Ruson never disappointeds. Their sushi is always fresh and delicious and their staff is courteous and friendly. We sometimes venture out to try other places out of curiosity and we always regret it. Ruson is the best!

Friday night, kept reading from fellow yelpers on how great ruson is so i decided to give this place a try. The place was filled with lots of people which is always a good sign at a restaurant. We had to wait a little while but were seated and promptly asked for our drink orders. I got the Ginger salad to start off. Salad was good and fresh but you cant really mess up a salad right? For dinner i opted to get the dynamite roll which i was really excited to try since i kept reading about how good it was.. i was dissapointed though. I dont know if it was a bad night but my roll lacked flavor and kept falling apart. Maybe i need to give this place another try, but its not my go to sushi place at the moment.

We have been going to Ruson for a while now. It is very closed to home. We only eat cooked Sushi. I love their Miso Soup and the Kamikaze Roll. Food is good, but a little pricey. Servers are friendly. Ruson gets very busy during the weekends. It's casual and family oriented.

Dont be scared by the outside appearance or deep west miami location. Its completely worth it! We must have ordered half the sushi menu. All amaze. Was recommended and now a believer in strip mall sushi.

Love the sushi here and if you ate with someone that Dosent like sushi there are other types if food there something for everyone that's why I love this place

Avoid this place!! Unless you like to smell urine while you eat. The whole restaurant smells like pee!! Yes urine!! It was awful. Needless to say i stayed for 5 min and walked out before i could order. And last time i went here they screwed up my order! I am a vegan and they brought me egg fried rice.
(1)
Brittany B.
The menu is pretty extensive and they have sushi options as well as hibachi (where the chefs cook in front of you on a humungo grill.) I've never been to the hibachi section, but every time that I come for sushi, that area always looks pretty packed. For my meal, I got the California Roll with brown rice. Call me simplistic, but for $5.50 Ruson makes the best quality California Rolls I've ever tasted. Usually sushi joints have such extensive menus with so many extravagant roll options that they tend to skimp on the simpler rolls. Ruson, however, is a whole different ball game. Overall, I was very satisfied.

This restaurant is located in a pretty typical West Kendall strip mall which has seen better days. They have both a regular Asian menu and hibachi where the food is cooked at your table. We did the hibachi table which was good, but nothing special. It's not cheap, but none of these types of restaurants are. The place was very busy, so obviously people do like it and it also gets pretty good ratings on Yelp. Maybe the sushi and regular menu are the way to go. One big problem the night we were there was that both bathrooms were out of order. With a full restaurant, you are going to have some unhappy customers and they did. They should have done whatever was necessary to have the bathrooms repaired on an emergency basis. The restaurant was also pretty smokey, thanks to the hibachi cooking. All in all, not bad but lots of room for improvement.

We are huge sushi lovers and have tried many sushi restaurants but nothing beats this place. It's in a shopping center anchored by Publix and you would never even think of finding them in this type of location. My favorite rolls are the "I love lucy" and "Yah bah". They also have Hibachi which includes a soup and salad and their sushi portions are very good. They have a very casual setting and gets really busy on Friday nights (usually a 45 min. wait), but it's definitely worth it.

I have been to this place countless times with my friends because it has the best sushi. I have had sushi at other places in Miami including Sushi Maki, Sushi Sake, RA, Sea Siam, etc. in which these places do not compare to Ruson's delicious sushi and of course their fried rice. I usually sit on the non-sushi bar side to have a little more intimate experience with just my friends and I. pros: Delicious food, great pricing, great and fast service, free and close parking, spacious, regular noise level, sanitary, complimentary candy and great portion sizes. cons: Somewhat far from the main area (all the way off of 137th and Kendall Dr.) and located in a Strip mall type of deal which includes Publix and CVS. Favorites: Ruson Roll, I Love Lucy Roll (this is extremely filling), Chicken fried rice and their fried ice cream! mmm

I love this place great sushi n the price is reasonable ....n they r nice everytime

Sushi side is ok when it comes to food quality. Hibachi side not so great. They obviously compete with Benihana in Miami as Jap Steak House's are few. You would think the cust service would be better. Not customer friendly on that side. Cheap sushi so they have that going for them.

We love this place!!! Go there all the time. We only get "cooked" rolls, but they are all great . My favorite is the I Love Lucy Roll, my sons favorite is the JB Tempura. We've been going for years - very consistent in quality. A little pricey, but never disappointing.

The girls and i go here for lunch at least once a week. Their lunch menu is great and very affordable. I wish i could eat that fried rice everyday but ill gain 100 lbs lol. Great place very recommended

This place is plain amazing and family fun! Somewhere along the lines of Samurai and the food is to die for! The place is pretty and rustic, very family oriented and with a beautiful salt water tank at the entrance. I went here to celebrate my father-in-law's 60th bday and he enjoyed it very much. I'm happy to say that our service was intense and helpful, i personally like that. We had a great experience here and we will definitively come again!

Ruson is my favorite restaurant for teppanyaki. I usually get the filet mignon and the chicken combo. The shrimp appetizer is delicious. Pretty much anything cooked on the table is awesome. The fried rice is one of the best fried rice in Miami. I absolutely love this place. The owner, staff , and chefs are very friendly. The chefs will put on a show everytime even though you have been there a thousand times. The volcano roll, tempura roll and dynamite roll are incredible. Everything here that I have tried has been great, so I give it 5 stars!

Richard K.
Although, I really enjoyed the meal and company at Ruson; nothing really wowed me either. Service started off nicely. The server was attentive and then as the meal wore on it started to wane away. It seemed they were more interested in conversing near the sushi bar then responding to our requests. Overall, the service was mediocre. The servers get a bonus for singing a really goofy happy birthday song. I always find it weird when an ethnic restaurant plays top 40 music. It ruins the ambiance and at Ruson, they play top 40. If they had not, I think the ambiance would be really peaceful. As for the food, my company stole all the salmon. She is greedy. Next time, I am not hesitating to capsizing that boat before my company gets to it. The sushi and sashimi on the boat was fresh and nicely cut. For dessert, we shared a fried cheesecake. To be honest, it was too heavy and not my really my cup of tea. I just acquiesced to the request for dessert; otherwise I would pass on it next time. Overall, it is a solid place that is reasonably priced, but really nothing special about the place unless you live near Kendall and are about the convenience.

I like this place, it's pretty good. A bit pricey, comparable to Benihana. I usually get take out & my money dish is the chicken fried rice, it's the best one I've tried. Not a big sushi fan, so I can't comment on them.

great family style sushi restaurant. the service was really friendly and fast, our waiter was so funny and cool, even took our loud behavior and constant joking without skipping a beat. the edamame was good and salted perfectly. the sake bombs were fun. all the rolls were delicious - we had 4 and all shared. if youve been to bangkok city on bird road and love it like i do, i believe it is the same owners so you wont be disappointed...

(5)Christian R.
It's not the nicest place, but it's really good! They have really fresh sushi and everything is super good. The only complaint is that their service has gone down recently.
(4)Zina A.

(5)Marissa F.
(5)Sue P.

(5)Justin P.

(3)Fernando S.
I'm not a picky eater, as long as you have a establishment with good food and good service. This place is great for a second date or a night out with your significant other. Either side of the dining room is good, and the food very well seasoned and fresh.
(4)Julie M.
(4)Felipe Z.
(5)Marci S.
(5)Leynna V.
My favorite sushi spot in Miami. Fresh food, reasonable prices and good service. What more could you ask for?
(5)Johnny L.
(3)Almi R.
(5)Jorge F.
(5)Kimberly K.
(5)Lee Z.
We had a variety of dishes. The food was ok. The only dish that I didn't care for was their pad thai; it was a bit too sweet. The service however, was excellent.
(3)David C.
The hibachi was good, but the sushi has too much rice per piece/roll. While i know extra rice is more satisfying to your hunger, It drowns out the flavor.
(3)Johandra P.
(5)Mady L.
(5)Juliana A.
I love this place. A bit expensive but sushi tastes great!!! I always get I love Lucy. My favorite sushi.
(5)Alejandra A.
(4)Alec F.
I'm a sushi connoisseur and Ruson is hands down one of the best in Miami! I Love Lucy roll is a must have! Every other roll is amazing!!
(5)Ashley R.
I got the shrimp. It was really good. Came with shrimp, fried rice, vegetables, soup, and salad. The soup wasn't the best but everything else was really good.
(4)Erik-Lizzie D.
Small and cozy place. Seems family run. We sat down for hibachi and thought we would have to wait a bit since no one else was at our table. However service was quick and we were the only ones with the chef cooking for us. Food was great and service was very nice.
(4)Nikki L.
Excellent food but the music sometimes is very obnoxious and the quality of the music bad!! Perfect sushi!!
(4)Nancy G.
(3)Louie K.
(4)J L.
(1)Tess O.
(5)Nahir D.
(5)Rosemary R.
Great place to eat,I usually get the I love Lucy rolls and my husband the samurai , yummm
(4)Supitcha K.
(3)Michelle B.
(3)Ivonne H.
A family restaurant. Love it!! Will recommend it to anyone, my son is obsessed with the sauce and the show.
(5)P B.
(5)Karla S.
(4)Yolanda T.
I came here with my daughter and we both are very happy with the service here. The sushi rolls are fresh and come with plenty rolls to fill you up. Its by far the best sushi place around kendall
(5)Sarah S.
Fantastic food! Good Prices. It gets a little full so you might have to wait. The fried rice bomb! lol Great service. Cheap Drinks.
(5)Yvelin R.
(4)Minette P.
(5)'Danny S.
This place and Bonsai are both my favorite sushi places in west miami. I might even like Ruson more than bonsai. The Yah-Bah roll is my favorite, followed by the Kamakazii and the I love lucy roll! Their Tuna Tataki is to die for!!
(5)Rosa Q.
Ruson is a tepanake restaurant where they cook in front of you.My family loves it.However the rolls are ok.I would recommend Moon for japanese rolls .They are great. The desserts at Ruson are great too!As for alcoholic beverages stick to sake or plum wine.
(4)Jonas B.
(4)Nardri F.
Awesome Food, Awesome Service. Great for Hibachi and Excellent for Sushi. Family orientated. My kids Love it here
(5)Linnette A.
I come here all the time, Ruson is the best sushi place I've tried and I love sushi so I always try different sushi places but this one is the best so far.. My favorite rolls are I love lucy, kamikaze, yah-bah and the lobster roll is the best.
(5)Jennifer L.
Food is about average for Japanese fare found in Miami. Service is decent but on a few occasions we waited much longer for service than we expected. Some of the rolls are a bit too sweet. Their Thai menu is also average.
(3)Pedro P.
The best filet mignon and the most deldctable Cheesecake Tempura with Ice Cream in all of the land. #Orgasmic #Heaven #Ruson
(5)Nicole W.
One of my favorite spots we are pretty regular! Great vibe and good quality food. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone!!
(5)Jeff G.
Good sushi and hibachi is great. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Have been here multiple times and always had a good experience
(4)Jay G.
Best sushi selection in Miami for me!!! (besides Nobu which is $200 a person practically everytime you go :) but is also amazing lol when youre feeling rich)! Service is always polite and my boyfriend loves the Volcano chicken, which is made super fresh and to order as well. i always take visitors here and they are blown away. gotta love the ru!
(5)Matthew P.
(3)R.c. K.
(5)Mike E.
I'll pass.
(1)Mercedes D.
I highly recommend this place. The service is so-so (sometimes) but the sushi is great and fresh! yum! The singing of the happy birthday is cheesy but I love it. I haven't tried the hibachi side but it's always packed and from reading reviews, it has made me what to try it.
(5)Claudia L.
I love this place. Ive had most of their sushi rolls and i must say theyre all great. My favorite roll has always been the jp/ bagel roll and they always make it fresh and delicous. You must try their i love lucy roll as well. They never dissapoint
(5)Sabrina L.
(4)Robyn C.
(5)Nick D.
I've been coming here for years and have always been a fan. The kamakazi roll is my new favorite and the I love lucy is amazing. There is always great service, fresh sushi, and a good atmosphere. Try it out you will like it. Thai donuts, Mmm!!!
(5)Jav M.
Just a great local Japanese/Thai restaurant... Great food and the family run business feels just like that... they always make you feel welcome and appreciated...
(5)Lyn B.
It was my first time at this rest. The staff was really welcoming, great service. One things I didn't like to much was that the sushi I tried (volcano)it was too greasy. I've had this dish before in another sushi place and the taste is more light. The atmosphere was really nice.
(3)Ivonne G.
(5)Rebecca C.
(3)Jordan N.
(4)Rick M.
Food was very good but overall decor was'nt... It was sort of expensive and loud music gave it sort of a cheasy sports bar feel, even though they did'nt even have a full bar.
(3)Karina G.
Im lovin' it
(4)Andrea W.
(5)Gato G.
Awesome sushi, really worth the visit, great bar service, great family restaurant .
(5)Tony P.
love this place had a grate time for mothers day !!
(4)Kristen L.
(4)Michelle S.
Sushi is great and the little bit of hibachi I managed to taste was good too. I like coming here with my family when I'm craving sushi since they don't usually eat sushi and opt for a warm meal. Ruson allows everyone to leave content and manages to satisfy a larger parties cravings.
(4)Jocelyn J.
I didn't try the sushi, but their teppanyaki is really good. We had the filet mignon, chicken, and shrimp with fried rice and veggies. The service was also very prompt and courteous. I am not usually in this area, but the next time I am, I will make note to stop by this place again!
(4)Zarine T.
(5)Lilyvania M.
Don't hate me but I'm one of the minority who is not ooooohhhinn and awwwwweeeing over Ruson. Yes, it's good sushi. Is it the best in Kendall- most likely. There's an amazing, little Japanese restaurant in Doral that is way better.
(3)John N.
First time visiting. Went based off of ratings of others and was pleasantly surprised. As a vegetarian usually bot a lot of options. Here they had an excellent fried tofo option. I would highly recommend based on quality of flavor.
(5)Paula R.
This place is fabulous and the sushi taste delicious great as usual : ). Again, the staff is always friendly and inviting : ). See you soon. I placed an order to go and was quite satisfied as usual .
(4)King D.
Best sushi place in West Kendall, enough said!
(5)Valeria E.
Love it. The sushi is fresh. The fried rice is DELICIOUS. Try it with the shrimp sauce.
(5)Richie L.
The teppan was very good. Ordered the steak and scallops and it was well cooked. I would have given it higher stars but they ran out of cold saki and kirin, at 7pm, on a Tuesday.
(3)Luis D.
(3)Martica B.
(4)Steph N.
(5)Carlos B.
(2)diana a.
the food is good, but the service lacks. i came for dinner on a friday night and it was so overcrowded and my waiter had 3 other tables so, he never came to ask if we wanted anything else or if the food was good. i will be back because, the food is really good just not for dinner. i shared with a friend an eel roll which i had never had before and it was so good and there ruson roll was even better.
(3)Mrs. G.
(4)Phi T.
(3)Diana L.
This is the Sushi restaurant that I most often frequent. It's the best Sushi in the area. The prices are very reasonable, and the Sushi is fresh and done well.
(4)Jocelyn T.
(5)Jonell P.
(5)Y P.
one day i got the sudden urge to be nice and take my mom out for lunch so i asked my friend in class where i should take her. she replied ruson so 20 minutes later im on my way. my friend suggested that i get the kamikaze roll and so i did. my mom loves sushi but she isnt too big on variation so she just got the california roll. the kamikaze roll was splendid. i loved loved LOVED it. soooo good. and the california roll was... a california roll. im not a big fan. my brother was with us and he got the special fried rice and when the waitress showed up, i was surprised at how big the serving amount was. and it was oh so good. the prices were fair and the service was good. not great though. for dessert, we got the banana tempura, a fried banana sort of thing with ice cream. it wasnt the greatest thing ever but it was pretty good i definitely recommend this place
(4)Liz T.
i've been a couple time now during work lunches. it's usually pretty good. i almost always get the lunch box special. the last time we all went, we did the hibachi... well it was very tasty. however, the two people who got the scallops did not do so well after lunch. both became VERY ill. i still gave them 3 stars, cause i did genuinely like the place (though i am scared to go back now) and also, since i wasn't the one who got sick. needless to say, we have not gone back (though i am tempted, maybe they just had a bad shipment of scallops or something). ~ever the optimist
(3)Nelson R.
(3)Mary e.
(2)Acelyn B.
(3)Alex B.
(1)Rc G.
Never disappoints. Last few times we've split a Pad Thai as well as the usual sushi. Very tasty
(5)Lina T.
The sushi was ok. We got a boat of sushi for two, which fed the 4 of us. The variety of different sushi was good. Service was fast. We had a great time!
(4)Michelle R.
This is my one of my favorite restaurants! I come here at least once a week! Food is excellent and very fresh! Shrimp fried rice is amazing! I Love Lucy, Green Dragon, and Kamikaze are my favorite! The ginger dressing salad is also spectacular!
(5)Andy D.
(1)Hung D.
(4)Armando L.
Good food, great ambiance. All the best of Samurai without the terrible parking and long waits. We will definitely be back and with family and friends in tow.
(5)Rebecca D.
(5)Ana Cristina P.
(4)Virginia M.
(5)Elizabeth D.
(3)Ana M.
This is really a good place to eat sushi in Kendall. I highly recommend their spicy seafood salad if you're into spicy ceviche. It is one of those things I only find here and it is delicious! Definitely what keeps me coming back!
(4)Catherine G.
Love this place! I've never been disappointed! Sushi (my favorite is the dragon roll and I love Lucy) always fresh and delicious and the hibachi is very good too!
(4)Lorely B.
(4)Jorge M.
Great Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Restaurant. If you want to you can sit at a table were the chef comes to your table and cooks in front of staff is friendly and helpful in choosing items off the menu,
(4)Tomas R.
(3)Evelyn C.
(4)Lina F.
(4)Erin T.
Delicious and dependable! Ruson never disappointeds. Their sushi is always fresh and delicious and their staff is courteous and friendly. We sometimes venture out to try other places out of curiosity and we always regret it. Ruson is the best!
(5)Gaby S.
(3)Michael A.
This is a great hidden gem in Kendall. Great food and atmosphere
(5)Aida A.
(4)Paulinacasado O.
Dont be scared by the outside appearance or deep west miami location. Its completely worth it! We must have ordered half the sushi menu. All amaze. Was recommended and now a believer in strip mall sushi.
(4)Eileen P.
Love the sushi here and if you ate with someone that Dosent like sushi there are other types if food there something for everyone that's why I love this place
(4)Alex M.
(1)Brittany B.
(4)Henry S.
(3)Lourdes O.
(5)Justin W.
Favorites: Ruson Roll, I Love Lucy Roll (this is extremely filling), Chicken fried rice and their fried ice cream! mmm
(5)Lynda V.
I love this place great sushi n the price is reasonable ....n they r nice everytime
(4)Jimmy R.
Sushi side is ok when it comes to food quality. Hibachi side not so great. They obviously compete with Benihana in Miami as Jap Steak House's are few. You would think the cust service would be better. Not customer friendly on that side. Cheap sushi so they have that going for them.
(1)Jamie T.
We love this place!!! Go there all the time. We only get "cooked" rolls, but they are all great . My favorite is the I Love Lucy Roll, my sons favorite is the JB Tempura. We've been going for years - very consistent in quality. A little pricey, but never disappointing.
(5)Jessica G.
The girls and i go here for lunch at least once a week. Their lunch menu is great and very affordable. I wish i could eat that fried rice everyday but ill gain 100 lbs lol. Great place very recommended
(4)Maylin G.
(4)Glenda C.
